Maddox.....

"I saw some fat chick driving around with her fat friends the other day with one of those "BITCH ON BOARD" stickers on her bumper. There were three of them in the car, and one guy who was obviously married to the girl in the back seat (you could tell that he was married because he had a cold, lifeless stare and was trying to avoid all conversation and eye contact with her). The chicks in the car had the most obnoxious laugh I've ever heard: a loud, shrieking cackle, like they're laughing so hard that they can barely breathe--you could hear the air being sucked in through their blow holes as their chunky jowls jiggled with each spattering of giggles."

Old CD's are New!!!

If CDs are dead, then records are even dead-er, right? Not if it's up to Aleksander Kolkowski. This engineer-cum-artist is carving a new niche for our old music with his vintage record-cutting machine. The handy tool re-purposes old CDs by 'overwriting' existing data and cutting grooves on 'em so they can be played on a turntable. All you have to do is show up with a track, an old CD, and voila! Off you go with a brand "new" 45RPM single. Now if only I could find my turntables.....

Worth1000 words - Ye Olde Technology

"In this contest your challenge is to take modern products and display them in a vintage light, through advertisements. You can also reverse the challenge and take vintage products and display them in a modern way.

The rules of this game are thus: Take modern products and advertise them in a vintage way, or take vintage products and advertise them in a modern way. As always, quality is a must. We will remove poor entries no matter how much we like you. You'll have 48 hours for this contest, so make your submissions count."

I could prolly source you guys a fake one of these....

"1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Siera Louis Vuitton Limited Edition L.A. Funmobile And this is my car. It all started when the hippie who lived in the apartment behind my house lost his car. As in misplaced. When the cops showed up three weeks later to inform him that it was parked on the next block over, he graciously sold it to me for the low, low price of 250 bucks, having bought a new car in the interim. I promptly scraped off the 800 bumper stickers and went to work. First, I took it to Earl Scheib and had it given a heavy coat of "Chocolate Glitter." Then I painted the trim, wheel holes, the dash, steering wheel, and all the other interior with a heavy coat of gold enamel. After that, I spent a week in the garage stenciling the logos on with gold spray paint and gold leaf. A quick top-coat at Earl's and I was good to go. So far, it's been a really bad influence on me...whenever people take my picture in it, I just can't seen to keep my finger out of my nose. And when folks pull up next to me at the stoplight and start revving their engines, I just want to floor it. And sometimes I do." http://www.stevelanasa.com

Bjork - Declare Indepandance - Shanghai

Check it out... Bjork's sung out "Tibet Tibet!" during the end of her Declare Indepandance number at a recent show in Shanghai. Dare i say ... she may not be performing for the olympics anytime soon. :) Get out of Tibet!

Kool Herc - The Beginning Of Hip Hop Music.

Kool herc talking about the very early days of hip hop ...

Hip hop was born in the Bronx, at 1520 Sedgwick Ave, when DJ Kool Herc started throwing parties and playing the breaks, something nobody had done before. But for the last year, the future of 1520 Sedgwick Ave, or Sedgwick and Cedar, has been in question as the landlord tried to remove the 100 unit apartment complex the Mitchel-Lama housing program, which gives landlords tax breaks for renting below market rate. Fortunately for fans of hip hop and affordable housing, the city has made an unprecedented move to block the sale because it “was not viable under current rent restrictions,” protecting the building from being bought and turned into luxury hip hop condos.

Here’s a piece of documentary with a British narrator and DJ Kool Herc explaining how hip hop was born. It also features Grandwizard Theodore, more recently caught performing the little known blindfolded-record-on-the-head scratch.

VANS Half Crepe's

Yummy... plaid's been big but i have never really dug it on sneakers such as the AirMax90's or 1's that have been in every platypus or hype for god knows how long now.

These additions to the Vans line have been executed really well.

Awesome.

A picture tells 1000 words....

....but which words?

Let it Rain!

Just spied these... probably old news for some...

The new release of Nike Structure Triax and the AirMax Lights look great IMO.

The Triax has come together really well with the light grey toe guard, mesh vamp, and the rain camo quarter. The black swooh is a great contrast and the purple accents on the top eyelets and heel tab.

For me the AirMax Light is the pick of the two.. the black toe guard and accents look great and really set off the rain camo. This shoe also has 3M reflective materieal on the heel and quarter. Also as boring as it is... the Midsole being all white looks great against the rest of the shoe. Get involved where you can.
