In Italy, someone from the "FTM Futurist Actions 2007" group has been said to have "vandalised" the historical Trevi fountain. This act of protest was carried out in broad daylight, and a box of leaflets was distributed accross the courtyard, the group claiming they aim to combat "everything and anyone with a spirit of healthy violence" and to turn this "grey bourgeois society into a triumph of colour"
The Authorities had quicklly shut off the water supply (which comes from natural springs over 16 km away)and resupplied the fountain with clean water. Curator of fountains suggests that there "shouldnt be any relevant damage".
The colour red was used in this instance in protest about the incurred expenses from the Rome Film Festival and wanted to draw symbolism to the red carpet.
Not too long ago, in America, TV Network Showtime put on a marketing media stunt to promote their 2nd Series of the amazing TV show called Dexter, a series on a man who is a crminal investigator who specialises in blood splatter, while also being a serial killer. nice. now this stunt involved 12 sites across their country in which they police taped off fountains in the area and made the water run red to create a stir.
Cool how that if you are a corporate entity you can get away with similar acts of "Vandalism" as long as you can put it down to a media stunt or run with the "holds commercial value" game.

Make a Mix Tape...
I miss those days... you'd get to school in the morning, and one of your mates had put together a mix tape of all his older brothers music.. and you'd sit next to your mate in math class with a foam coated ear bud while he held the headphone jack in just the right way to ensure that both of you could hear... NWA would play and you'd both chime out ... "fuck the police... fuck the police..." man year 8 was sweet.
So go to http://www.makeamixa.com/ and make your own USB Mix Tape. choose your graphics from a pre made spec, or even drop your own images on there. 1GB for about $46 delivered to AUS. Get involved.

Fav Rock on Saturday night was without a doubt, the Best Fav rock i had been to. The night kicked off supremely with Mexi's set, although there was some problem with the Decks that prevented a Stookie, CWD's set was epic..., Mafia Rocked, Steezy went mental... Great Crowds from every angle, Sanchez's Birthday, a Canberran invasion, lots of pretty girls, and many new faces.
Photos couteresy Hayll's busted camera to follow in days to come, Or go check out her blog for some of the damage.

Wanted - new reason to kill self....
....Because this problem has now been solved. Some of you may know that i am somewhat lactose intolerant... well it seems as though my affliction has become somewhat weaker... and as a result... i have started eating cereal in the morning with a splash of Milk. (yes.. i like living on the edge people, for those of you that know anyone with lactose intolerance... there is a very fine line between enjoying and overdoing.... especially when you commute 30 mins from home to the office... or from toilet to toilet, thats a huge gamble.)
Anyways... some bright spark from the UK has come up with a breakfast cereal bowl that has solved the age old problem of milk/cereal mixing or as i like to call it "The Softening". The process of cereal becoming soggy when exposed to too much milk. Generally this is a function of Time as well, so if you lie taking your sweet ass time.. you'll like this too.
Basically there is a ledge in the boyls that allows some form, of milk / cereal seperation. Eureka!

Clarks Ballistic Nylon.
If your like me... you like remakes or refixes or classic shoes...Vans Vulcanised, Nike Dunks, Air Max of various make, Blazers.. argh the list goes on.
When i was a kid... i used to get around in my Dads Clarks Desert boots, clobbing all over the house, "building" things in the shed, "helping" Dad out under cars and what not... He had a few pairs... your typical camel coloured suede, some black numbers and my favs were a beat up pair of brown full grain leather jobbies.
Anyways.... Back to the shoes... here is a great refix of the original Clarks Desert Boot... done in Ballystic Nylon, which means you could pretty much drop a running chainsaw on your foot and you'd be suhweeet.

Guns for Girls
here's some fun for all you girls who feel the need to be armed to hilt with military spec weaponary, nicely detailed in anodized pink hue's and other luxury treatments such as embossed leather grips and engraved gun butts.
See above for the HK-AK-47. Also in the collection, "Motha T" RPG launcher, "Lady Di" revolver, "Hilton" Handcuffs, and my personal favourite, "My Little Carbine" which comes with a night vision scope. Awesome.

Made in the USofA of course....
"The worst part about shooting home invaders is having to get out of bed to grab the shotgun. Well, that's no longer a problem with the The Back-Up Gun Rack, which provides a convenient and easy-to-install bed-mounted solution! Now you can fill invaders with two barrels of buckshot without even having to sit up!
A bed-mounted shotgun. What could go wrong?" - Core77.com

Voltron - Reebok
So this just made me squeal like a girl.... i want i want i want.
"The Reebok Voltron Pack is dropping all around the globe and has been much anticipated. Now we can for the first time have a real close look at what to expect. The pack consists of overall five sneakers. Each sneaker comes in a nice box with them the matching toy. All five toys can then actually be assembled into one big robot, thus collecting the entire pack might actually be worth it. " - HighSnob

DVS - Luxe Pack
Skate Brands doing premium is something i am always an advocate of. This line from DVS is the creamiest i have seen thus far. Taking calls from the Chinese and utilising the "Year of the Rat theme", the designs are clean and well thought out.
The pack contains Tees, chino's and sneakers featuring all premium leathers and "luxe" treatments such as croc skin.

The MARA 18
Awesome collection of photographs of the infamous Mara18 gang from Guatemala. Viewer beware... some of these pics are pretty damn harsh.
Description from Victor's site: "The phenomenon of the Maras, violent Central American gangs that originated in Los Angeles, has become a nightmare in the region. After years of crime and extreme violence, the gangs have lately been subject to repression from governments tired of the insecurity, utilizing methods reminiscent of the counter insurgency wars of the 1980’s."

remember?
Dunno bout you guys... but this was one of the first times that i Really layed eyes on real skateboarding... i remember being 8 or 9 years old and me and a few of the kids in my court would all take turns riding my friend Ryan's board and we'd build a little quarter pipe to do kick turns on. After a day of grazing and bruising he'd play this video and we'd all vow to one day, roll through the streets of Traralgon like the guys in Future Primitive.

Got Gum?
So here's another reason for me to open my wallet. Puma Japan has just released these 3 Clyde colourways featuring premium suede on classic gum.
This shoe's a no brainer, and such a releif to see some basic styling back in the range after all the ludicrous colours and treaments popping up lately.
